Store your information project (Week 14)

I met Maryam Moosa, Bushra and Mira and we discussed together how to design the application by using Microsoft Visio. We decided what to include in the home page and each quarry page. I had a problem which delayed me to start the work with my colleagues. I had a problem in my laptop this week so I took it to the Think Aid immediately and they solved the problem. As well, I asked them to install Microsoft Visio program in my laptop because I need it to accomplish the design of the application. Moreover, we are working in a new project which is networking; therefore we have to manage our time to complete the two projects successfully. Next week I will show Mr. Tridib the work that I have done so far to get his feedback.

Store your information project ( Week 12 )

This week I met Maryam Moosa, Bushra and Mira because all of us are doing the same duty. I asked them to discuss the duty together and assist each other in this project. I showed them the functional specification tutorial that I found and they benefited from the tutorial because it has many examples of models that will help us to design the application. http://www.mojofat.com/tutorial/index.html this is the link of the tutorial. After the discussion we decided to conduct a meeting next week to start doing the application. Moreover, we talked to Mr. Tridib about the tutorial and we showed him the examples and he was pleased to see us working together to accomplish the project. Mr. Tridib added a new task for the students who have the first duty which is designing the forms and Asma will assist me to do that in our group.

Store your information project ( Week 11 )

In week 11 Mr. Tridib explained some features such as CD collection and phpMyadmin in http://localhost/xampp/ website which is a tutorial website that will assist us to accomplish store your information project. Now I understood exactly what to do in my duty also, I have a general idea about my colleagues’ duties. Moreover, Mr. Tridib gave us an idea about how to convert Access file to MySQL. I searched about functional specification and I found a very useful functional specification tutorial. This tutorial was helpful because it clarified many models with their examples and how to create a design document. On Sunday 19th of April I will show Mr. Tridib the model that I will use to design the application.

Store your information project ( Week 10 )

On Thursday Mr. Tridib met all students who have the same duties, he asked us about what we have done so far, and he explained the duty for the students who have the same duties. My duty is more than testing the application, therefore I have to find out what is the functional specification of the application. “Functional specification is the set of documentation that describes the requested behavior of an engineering system. The documentation typically describes what is needed by the system user as well as requested properties of inputs and outputs (e.g. of the software system)” (Wikipedia). As well, we have to create a website by using Dreamweaver program and design the pages of the application. Every day we have to spend at least an hour to accomplish this project. At this time, I should think how to describe the procedures to submit the plan of the application and start to scratch the basic design of the application.

Store your information project ( Week 8 )

Till now I'm still not sure what to do, because my group members didn't start to do their duties.
As you know my duty depends on their duties and they have to start first. My role is to identify the functional specification of the application and design the administration modules. As well, I will test the completed application at the end to ensure if it's working or not. Next week I will start the research process to learn exactly how to accomplish my duty in the project.

Store your information project ( Week 7 )

In week 7 we started the store your information project, Mr.Tridib explained the project generally. Also, we have chosen our team members; we are a team of four students. Store your information project has four duties to accomplish during week 7 till week 18. As well, the oral presentation will start on week 18. As group, we divided the duties among us and each member is responsible for the following:

1- Expertise in the XAMPP package. (Asma Harib)

2- Relational databases and how to split the existing perfume database into two or more relational tables. (Expertise with MySQL ). (Iman Aref)

3- Expertise with PHP and extracting data from and inputting into the database. (Hamda Keraif)

4- Functional specification of the application, designer of the administration modules, tester of the completed application. (Iman Al Hashmi)

I will do the forth duty in the project, till now I'm not sure what is required from me to do in this part. I think that it will be the most difficult project in this course.

ECOM 270 course ( Thursday, 12 Feb.2009 )

I learned some new stuff in ECOM 270 course such as how to create a blog. Also, I Knew that we

have three big projects that need great effort to accomplish them successfully. Moreover, the netg

course doesn’t work, so Mr. Tridib delayed the deadlines of the courses.
